Start Video from a specific byte offset from the beginning of file (not time offset)

    Hello all,

I'm new to all this and wanted to se if I can get some help.

Is it possible to start playing a video from a specific byte offset from the beginning of the file? I don't want to use MediaCenterEnvironment.MediaExperience.Transport.Position to do do it. The reason is that I'm trying to play some VOB files and sometimes the player only recognises part of these files (for instance the file maybe 20 minutes long but the player stops playing at the 3 minute mark).

If this is not possible using the Media Center APIs would it be possible to use DirectShow to do it? If I use DirectShow will the application stream to the video to XBOX360?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks much

    Alex
