    Media Center Problem

    Hello to you all,

This isn't really a question about MCML but i was wondering if someone here had this problem with Media Center.

I installed a MCML application in a users computer; the registry was right, the dlls where in the right place and everything was has it should be but when we open media center no program appears (not even the games that come with VMC by default) it basically doesn't show any program at all (i've checked the registry and the computer and everything seams normal). Since it never showed any program i believe this is a Media Center bug.

    (it's a laptop with only 6 months)

Does anyone know what is happening or who do i need to contact?

    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards

    Re: Media Center Problem

Are you talking about a START MENU item, or just something in the "More Programs" folder?

    Re: Media Center Problem

That's the problem, i'm talking about everything... nothing appears in Media Center. Neither in the Start Menu or the More Programs. The games that are installed by default (hearts, chess...) don't appear but everything is well installed...

Can you post a screenshot of what you do see?

    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Re: Media Center Problem

    Hello Andrew,

You want a screenshot of media center or the registry? Because media center looks just like another media center that is installed in a different computer except that it doesn't show any external program (The" More Programs" list is empty but all media center standard applications or menu entries are correct and visible like recorded tv and so on...)

    Thanks
    Best Regards

    Re: Media Center Problem

For even the programs that are shipped with Windows to be missing, SOMETHING must be very wrong somewhere on the machine. But we just don't have enough information to come up with a guess as to why.

Yes it's a screenshot of that I was after.

Have you used any tweaking/customisation programs on this machine?

    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Re: Media Center Problem

    Hello,

I'll have to ask the person for it.

Nothing of those, it came from the store just like that.

It's very strange and something that can be happening is an exception thrown during the VMC loading  part that mite be making it start empty. I don't really known what happens during the VMC startup so i can't point to anything concrete.

Thanks for your help and i'll try to get the screenshot
    Best Regards
