i moved my development environment to another vista machine, and got this message when trying to attach the vs2005 debugger to a running ehxhost process: error message

any idea what's going on or how to fix?

Make sure you've got all the updates to VS2005 installed on your machine (some specific to Vista) - or better still if you can, move to VS2008.

thanks. i reinstalled sp1 for vs2005 and checked for updates. that didn't do the job and i'm relcutant to move to vs2008 since it'll require some changes to our team's project environment (double maintenance of project files etc...).

is there anything else that i can try?

This is the point where I'd reformat'n'reinstall.... sorry.
